Wednesday Evenings Prayer and Parables
Jesus stories are like wrapped gifts. The packaging of the story can either distract
or captivate. But unless the package is opened, the gift itself remains unseen. Likewise
unless one seeks the core of the parable--its truth and application-- the lessons will
remain hidden. Yet when discovered, these lessons prove extremely valuable. The
testimony of millions of changed lives over two thousand years attest to this fact.
When unwrapped, Jesus' stories include powerful multiple applications. The same
parable can strike people in different ways.
WHO WAS JESUS?
He began His ministry by being hungry, yet He is the Bread of Life.
Jesus ended His earthly ministry by being thirsty, yet He is the Living Water.
Jesus was weary, yet He is our rest.
Jesus paid tribute, yet He is the King.
Jesus was accused of having a demon, yet He cast out demons.
Jesus wept, yet He wipes away our tears.
Jesus was sold for thirty pieces of silver, yet He redeemed the world.
Jesus was brought as a lamb to the slaughter, yet He is the Good Shepherd.
Jesus died, yet by His death He destroyed the power of death.

Welcome to Texas Bob's World's Updates
Hi, There is no music on this page.
Though I have walked with God for several decades,
I must confess I still find much about Him incomprehensible
and mysterious. But this much I know: He delights in surprising
us. He dots our pilgrimage from earth to heaven with amazing
serendipities.

When We Don’t Pray - Nancy Leigh DeMoss:
- Did you realize that when we don't pray it's a sin against God? First Samuel 12:23 says,
"Far be it from me that I should sin against the Lord by ceasing to pray for you."
- When we don't pray, it's direct disobedience to the Word of God. First Thessalonians 5:17
says, "Pray without ceasing."
- When we don't pray, we're vulnerable. Matthew 26:41 says, "Watch and pray so that you will
not fall into temptation."
- When we don't pray, we're powerless. It limits our relationship with God. It hinders us from
knowing His will, His priorities, and direction.
- When we don't pray, we rely on what we can do, instead of what He can do.
- When we don't pray, we're showing pride, self-sufficiency, and lack of discipline.
- When we don't pray, it leaves us weak, harried, and hassled.
- So, why don't we pray? Let's say with the disciples, "Teach us to pray."

No Dirty Dishes With This One.
Have you ever heard of this? Good for when all of your family is
together and no one has to wait for their special omelet)
Have guests write their name on a quart-size zip-lock FREEZER BAG with
permanent marker.
Crack 2 eggs (Large or Extra large) into the bag (not more than 2) shake
to combine them.
Put out a variety of ingredients such as ; cheeses, ham, onion, green
pepper, tomato, hashbrowns, ! salsa, mushrooms, Etc.
Each guest adds prepared ingredients of choice in to their bag and shake,
Make sure to get the air out of the bag and then zip it up.
Place the bags into rolling boiling water for exactly 13 minutes. You
can usually cook 6-8 omelets in a large pot. For more make another pot of
boiling water. Open the bags and the omelet will roll out easily. Be
prepared for everyone to be amazed.
Nice to serve with fresh fruit or toast . Everyone gets involved in the
process and what a great conversation piece.
P. S. quote from one lady, "I tried it this weekend and mixed mine
into a bowl before putting into bag, I also added salt, pepper and a
little milk! and a tiny sliver of butter. Since I had added so many
ingredients, ours took 15 minutes to get done, and I was amazed as to!
how large and fluffy they turned out. It will be a staple in our house
now for making omelets.
A friend used sandwich bags which melted, so use quart freezer bags ."
